The band has been existing for quite a few years already and yet they finally haven't released a full-length until now. There have been some demos, many line-up changes and above all long waiting :-) With fairly good cover artwork the booklet really got me interested in the music inside. I got a bit confused by the band's webpage www.blackmetal.cz as their music is rather a mix of Torr and death metal (kind of obvious taking into account bands history), but ok.
The album starts off with more less unnecessary intro after which the first song goes – Jsem tvuj Kristus and we have the first impressions here .. demonic keyboard startup and after the song gets moving and something's wrong here .. the sound .. mostly the guitars are kinda flat and dampened and overally it feels strange. However after a while you get used to it and the song becomes quite good. Later a well fitting solo kicks in and all that's here after the end is satisfaction. Unfortunately next four songs are rather dull and don't kick as much as the first one, maybe some guitar parts in Cas na funeral are worth listening. Next there are rerecorded songs from the bands history. Both Prosektura and Posledni dejstvi are quite heavy and again, the album is fun to listen to. Initial guitar riffs in Masochrist (a new song) remind me of Death, it's a good song as well as the old Thermonuclear Massacre, English version of Termonuklearni masakr, that's the way how Moriorr can get my attention. In the end there is somewhat punk or what, Rockenroll Moriorr, rather a nuisance here.
The album is not bad at all, positive moments rather prevail. I dare say that the band is better when playing their older death metallish stuff, the new things lack the catchiness. Improving the sound would also help. However this album is more a showcase of bands discography, so maybe on a proper full length with new songs Moriorr will show that they can do much better.
