Four-membered band Žrec presents its new album “Žertva” and it’s kind of an answer for small group of pagan-folk fans in our country. Sarapises jumpy rhythms combined together with Ingvarr´s keyboards and flute give this album that „folky“ feeling, while Torahs guitars and Soulburner´s bass and vocals make them sound really heavy. I can’t forget to mention Ingvarr´s clean vocal, which gives many good harmonic touches to their songs.
Žrec – Žertva is again about Slavic Ages, so their lyrics are mainly about our forefathers. Album includes even song “Lystoczku czerwenyj” in Polish language and “Nebeské stříbro Perunovo” (Perun´s Celestial Silver with czech lyrics) – Nokturnal Morrtum´s cover.
It wouldn´t make sense to cut through every song, because Žrec combined paganism, folklore and metal in their art very well and their product really is Žertva (pagan sacrifice to gods)
