This year you have extended your discography by EP „Exi(s)t“. Where and how did the news arise, did everything happen smoothly and without problems?

EP „Exi(s)t“ was recorded in proven studio Šopa, under the supervision of Standa Valášek. During the process of recording there were some moments of crisis in the band, which have naturally complicated the whole work absolutely unnecessarily. In one moment it seemed, that the EP will not be finished in studio in time and we will have to proceed with a replacement solution. Finally it did not happen thanks God and we followed through to a successful end, even when under pressure.

Since the last record „Opsialgia“  you have made a kind of genre move to much progressive exhibition. What did make you to do such musician change?

Already at two previous albums it is possible to feel some evidence of progression, even if not is such degree. But anyway, we never wanted to settle for “standard” conception of our music. That is why what happens on „Exi(s)t“, is just natural development, which we come through since the very beginning. It is not needed to look for anything else behind that.

You are certainly happy of positive reactions, but did any negative responses appear?

The fact is, that we are really happy of it, but we have no illusions that we ingratiated all.  (laughing) Anyway, we did not experience any absolutely negative critics yet.

The EP is much good also by tonal. As you have mentioned in the introduction, you have cooperated with Stáňa Valášek in studio Šopa for the second time. Will you use his ability also in future?

We have made several thinks the other way compared to the previous shooting. Different tuning of the instruments, setting the apparatus is also a little different and upgrade was made also at drums, which was sure significant at the resulting sound. But of course it would not work such good without Stáňa. It is too early to plan anything now, but we will come back to Šopa most likely. In case that we will have anything to return with. (laughing)

You have baptized the news in March.  How did the christening itself look like?

It took place in Holýšov on March 3rd accompanied by related Llyr and Neron. And I should not omit Debustrol, who did not surely disappoint their fans. The whole action was made in style of big party and entertainment definitely not an emergency. But, to my misfortune, I do not remember everything of this evening…

Will you support the CD with help of some more concerts? Are you e.g. planning any tour or  participation at summer festivals?

One small tour already took place at the beginning of the year and we are planning one more in autumn. From big summer festivals, we will sure take part at  Basinfirefest, further action is slowly taking shape…Basically you could say, that we have concerts throughout the whole year. It is enough to watch our FB and BZ profiles, where we are updating all the time.

You have somehow showed by the news, in which musical steps will Neurotic Machinery walk in future. Is it possible to expect, that we live to see anything similar also on classic Lines of Action?

It is possible to expect the unexpected. (laughing) But not to fog too much.. Certainly nobody of us wants to recur himself, so we will continue with our “experiments” and we will discover new horizons, how far we can go with our music. On the other hand, we will take care about maintaining our own identity, with help of which it will be clearly distinguishable, that it is still Neurotic Machinery.

It is maybe much premature, but do you already have any idea, when you will be able to prepare material for next album?

The idea was, that we will start at the end of summer, but this plan was anyhow reviewed during the last few days. As our fingers started itching and in my computer there have accumulated several interesting ideas, we decided to begin working on new compositions since the next month.

And what about any other plans for future?

Concerts especially, as we enjoy this activity tremendously, with which it is connected to try any concert abroad. We are toying with the idea to process the video for the next composition. Certainly to improve the presentation on podium and things connected with that. To write quality compositions for the next album. Generally to still work hard on ourselves and to move forward with our technical skills. There is more than enough work…

We of course thank our fans for their enduring patronage, which we appreciate! And generally to all… Keep going to concerts and supporting the quality music and bands who do this from the heard, for you…
